The Auto Transfer Program allows homeowners, who are renting their property to others, to ensure that the electric and/or water services are not disconnected when the renters move out. Utilities will automatically be transferred back into the homeowners name on the date requested by the renter. The standard transfer fee of $60.00 will be waived for those enrolled in the program and the homeowner will be billed for usage on a monthly basis from the transfer date forward.

I agree to the following: In the event I have a tenant renting the property and the tenant requests to discontinue utility service, I hereby authorize TDPUD to read the meter(s), but do not disconnect power and/or water to the property. I will be responsible for utility service charges incurred after that reading. This automatic transfer will not apply for those tenants who are disconnected for nonpayment of utilities or nonpayment of a required deposit. There will be a $60.00 reconnect fee to reconnect the service. This authorization will remain in effect until revoked in writing.
