Truckee Donner PUD Awards $90K Rebate to Tahoe Truckee Unified School District
Supports Schools’ Efforts to Save Energy and Money
Truckee, Calif. (February 21, 2018) – The Truckee Donner Public Utility District (TDPUD) recently awarded the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District (TTUSD) $90,000 in energy efficiency rebates to support school projects. TTUSD celebrated this rebate with a check presentation at their February 7 board of education meeting.
The TDPUD’s rebate allowed TTUSD to complete energy efficiency and lighting retrofit projects at the Joerger Drive maintenance building and parking lot, Sierra High School, and Alder Creed Middle School. The project is expected to save 174,500 kilowatt-hours annually, equating to over $30,000 saved on electricity costs per year.
“Truckee Donner PUD’s board and staff are very happy to continue our ongoing partnership with the school district to pursue cost-effective energy and water conservation opportunities,” said Lauren Schaake-Hudson, TDPUD program manager. “These energy efficiency projects are great for the environment and will also save the schools money for years to come.”
